Fiat ItalyFounded in 1899 in Turin, Italy as Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (hence the name Fiat). Since the beginning the company was orientated on manufacturing cars, but in history also did manufacture railway engines, carriages, military vehicles (during World War 2 they were main supplier of cars, armored cars and tank for Italian army), farm tractors, and even aircrafts. They have spread their technology to numerous outside countries, where they opened their factories and also acquired many other auto manufacturers, like Lancia, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati or Chrysler. Their basic production under brand of Fiat were usually cars for everyone - affordable, simple cars without luxury equipment. They are most famous for their compact cars that are the workhorses of the brand.
