Thunderbolt (1995, Hong Kong)Original title: Pik lik foh Running time: 110 minutes
Language: Cantonese / English Mechanic Foh runs a garage in Hong Kong where he constantly is offered moeny for illegal changes to the cars used later for road races, but he refuses. He is hired by the police to tow the illegaly changed cars when a hardened criminal known as Cougar hits the streets of Hong Kong and while running away from police hits one of the policemen. Accidentally Foh gets involved in the chase and stops Cougar. The gangster is determined to get his revenge, especially since they both will enter the official race on local track.
Just like other Jackie Chan movies this one is also based heavily on martial arts, but with quite a lot car chase scenes taking place on the narrow streets of Hong Kong and during the track race. Unfortunately just like in most of Jackie Chan movies the scenes are far from realism, especially on the track, where constantly the shots are accelerated to make them look like cars are going really fast. And again as usual with Jackie Chan it is decent entertainment, although more of fairy tale rather then realistic film.
