Smokey and the Bandit 3 1983 car movie

Running time: 85 minutes

Language: English

Sheriff Buford T. Justice is about to retire and he accepts the challege from Big Enos and Little Enos - they bet $250,000 against his badge that he can’t transport their new logo from Florida to Texas on time. The logo happens to be a large stuffed shark Sheriff Justice will have to transport on the top of his police car. Of course Big Enos do not plan to leave anything to chance - together with Little Enos the prepared few traps to slow down the sheriff. Unfortunately for them Buford T. Justice, with the help of his dim-witted son Junior Justice, avoid each and everyone of them. After their ambush with milk truck fails they finally give up - it’s job for someone of superior skills to stop sheriff. They thought of hiring the Bandit again, but decided against it - they need someone reliable, but also someone who they can control. So they call the Snowman instead and offer him $200,000 just to play the part of the Bandit. Snowman is delighted - he takes the Trans Am for a spin and begins his chase after Justice. On the way he picks up hitchhiker Dusty Trails, who just quit her job in used car dealership by telling whole truth about the owner in live TV commercial.

Third and, hopefully last, of the Smokey and the Bandit series, this time with a little twist to the plot. Originally the film was planned to be called "Smokey is the Bandit" and Jackie Gleason was playing two parts - Sheriff Buford T. Justice and the Bandit, whitout Jerry Reed or Burt Reynolds. This version was filmed in 1982, but the test audiences reacted with confusion and the producers decided to reshot the scenes with the Bandit, this time played by Jerry Reed. In a way the title was stil adequate - this time Buford T. Justice was the one that was being chased. Nevertheless the final version was a bit chaotic, plot was less than interesting, car scenes were seldom and not top quality. Overall this is the weakest of all Smokey and the Bandit movies barely reminding predecessors.
