Detroit 1994 car movie

Detroit is classic car company management game, in which player becomes head of the new company in year 1908 and against 3 competitors tries to dominate the global market. Of course at the beginning the constructions are very simple, but we can compete by offering the new segments of the market - luxury cars, sport cars, vans, etc. But with time it is more and more important to develop innovations, accessories, better engines, better suspensions and better designs of the body. While putting together the new model we can choose from different parts of front, middle and rear part of the car, set up the equipment and color. After all that we send it to the road test and redisgn it or put to production.

First we have to build a factory, start the network of dealers - for that point the world was divided in zones, in each of them we can build separate factory and separate network. Hiring workers is just statistics in this game - you need them to build the cars and design new parts, but they simply come and go. Once you set up the production line and dealers network you can start to sell the cars, change the prices, forward the production to other zones, invest in marketing and track what your competitors are up to.

The game had a lot of flaws (some of the zones, like Africa or Japan, are useless most of the time and there is no sale at all) and on some levels very limited, but it gave the chance to look into the backstage of car industry, where you can work hard on new model and it will be complete flop or put together a poor car that will become an instant hit. With obvious limitations it still was quite successful game.
