DeLorean DMC-12DeLorean DMC-12 was planned to premiere in 1979, but due to technical problems and budget overruns delayed the project for over 3 years. With futuristic shape, body made of stainless steel and gullwing doors it was one of the coolest cars around. Unfortunately huge technological problems, not top quality workmanship and engine that was far too weak for the car made the whole project a complete failure. Due to financial problems DeLorean had to look for investors and the only place where they found it was Northern Ireland, where the car was ultimately manufactured.
Why is it legendary?
It became legendary due to unique design and Dr. Emmett Brown, a fictious character from "Back to the Future" movie series, where it was used as a time machine. The populatity of the movies soon created huge demand on DMC-12, unfortunately it was already too late for the company.
